ADVERTORIAL -

Cork Coating is a spray- or trowel-applied coating material composed of cork oak bark granules dispersed in a water-based emulsion. Supplied as a thick paste, the material cures to form a flexible, water-resistant membrane suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

The coating is manufactured from natural cork granules, utilising the inherent properties of cork to provide a multifunctional surface layer. Once applied, it creates a continuous finish that combines moisture resistance with thermal and acoustic performance while retaining the natural texture of cork. The material can be applied to a wide variety of substrates, including timber, concrete, brick, metal, plastics and composite materials.

For exterior applications, the coating is intended for façades and roofs, where it provides protection against weathering, moisture ingress, condensation and UV exposure. The flexible membrane accommodates thermal movement of the substrate, reducing the risk of cracking over time. The material is also breathable, allowing water vapour to pass through while maintaining water resistance.

In interior environments, Cork Coating can be applied to walls and ceilings to improve acoustic comfort and assist with moisture regulation. The natural cellular structure of cork contributes to sound attenuation and thermal insulation, while also creating a textured decorative finish. In addition, the material exhibits resistance to mould growth and achieves a fire classification of Class B.

The coating is typically applied at a thickness of 5–6 mm using a dedicated spray gun supplied for the system, although trowel application is also possible. It is available in a palette of 42 colours and is supplied in 12 kg containers, allowing it to be adapted to a range of architectural and interior design applications.
